This review covers what my Friend That Cooks, Chef Sarah Glenn, did for me for the week starting Thursday, July 18, 2019. She has provided yet another set of excellent tasting meals! I highly recommend Friend That Cooks to anyone who appreciates gourmet dining!

Spiced chicken tenders with roasted sweet potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower – This is my comfort food! The taste is so rich, and the food is prepared so it is very healthy! I think there may be magic involved. Considering the smell of garlic cooking compared to the perfect blend of the taste of garlic in a prepared dish, yep, definitely magic!

Creamed peas and orzo with poached turkey tenderloin and mint – Chef Sarah said this would be good as a cold dish or heated in the microwave. It tastes a little like a healthy delicious meal combined with a desert that’s not on the list of foods I can have. Wow! Definitely magic!

Barbecue roasted pork ribeye with cauliflower and broccoli coleslaw – I did know that it was possible to make healthy coleslaw but the cauliflower and broccoli in place of cabbage turns this experience into a delightful adventure! The barbecue pork is even better than the coleslaw! I grew up in the south and I know a few things about barbecue pork. Chef Sarah’s barbecue pork holds its own compared to the finest barbecue from Birmingham and Memphis and that’s no small deal!!!

Chantal has honestly changed our lives... We were eating out a ton, mostly late at night, & instead of focusing on our own healthy meals, we were focused on our kids’ meals. We love eating healthy, “foodie” type food & Chantal is making it all possible. We’re getting an awesome variety of ingredients & dishes that - even as a person who loves to cook - we wouldn’t have time for otherwise, prep time is faster than ordering out, we’re eating at a normal time & enjoying more time with our kids, we’re consistently eating much healthier... the list goes on— we couldn’t be more lucky! Plus, Chantal is the easiest houseguest and is so flexible in working with us and our preferences. And our old-man dog is always so happy to see her Thanks Chantal!

Having Amanda come cook for us has been a huge blessing for my family. I work full time and getting dinner ready before evening activities rarely happened, let alone having breakfast and lunch available to grab in the morning. If I did get it done, it was because I worked all day Sunday prepping. Now we enjoy family time on Sundays and still get to eat home cooked, healthy and favorite meals all week. Best thing ever!

We have had Katie cook for us for the past 2 months. She has definitely been up to the challenge! Our house is full of adventurous eaters who like global cuisine, spicy foods, and no leftovers. After a couple of weeks of trial and error, she got the gist of our family’s tastes and we have been pleased ever since. I email her details about the meals - where to pause the final cooking of a dish, leave that meal on the stove for today, make extra rice, etc. And when I get back the food is put away and the kitchen is spotless! Bliss! I’m not a trained chef but I have significant experience cooking, and it’s a relief to have someone take over who understands our dietary needs and the intricacies of a kitchen without needing supervision or assistance. Katie has taken the burden of day-to-day cooking and kitchen clean-up off our shoulders, and we get to feed our kids tasty and healthy food without resorting to take-out. Very pleased with Katie and Friends that Cook!

Amanda has been such a blessing to our family. She is so flexible on working with us on what we would like made each week. We have such a diverse need from vegetarian to BBQ but she is always able to find the right balance.

Katie has been such a blessing to have in our home. We had a brand new baby, two other young children, a husband who has a very demanding schedule and we just needed to get back to having more family time and less chaos. She has been a tremendous help in so many ways. She has taken the time to get to know our children, their likes and dislikes and even helped us prepare dishes for Easter when we needed the extra help. She has given us family time back, healthy meals and she is great to have in our home!

Oh my goodness!!!! This is the best service EVER!!!! Amanda makes fabulous meals for us and just makes my life better!! Three examples of why we love Amanda: First, we needed to travel for 8 hours in the car to get to a funeral. That week, Amanda made and packaged delicious sandwiches, beef taquitos, protein balls and cut vegetables for us to take with us in the car. Second, we have a very busy family going to baseball, soccer, band, etc. Amanda has made it easy by making a few sit down together meals along with meals that we can eat individually if needed, plus healthy on-the-go snacks. Each week she cuts vegetables for us!!! Third, we lived in the Czech Republic for three years before moving back to the United States. Amanda made us Czech dumplings!!!! For our Nebraska roots, she made us homemade runzas! We are beyond pleased and so happy we found the service and Amanda!!

Working with Elana was fantastic! She was cooking for two very different people and needs and managed to create meals we both enjoyed. She was also great with special requests-her banana muffins ruined me for all other muffins for life. Elana was also a delight to work with. Easy going and a great communicator and an all around lovely person . Thanks for everything Elana!

This service is great. I really appreciate Chantal Popick’s lunches - they are delicious! She is wonderful to work with. We’ve been working with her for over a year now. Periodically, we look back over past menus to special request our favorites. That’s a hard task because we’ve liked so many!

Chantal has been our personal chef for a year now! As a busy physician and mother, I can say that this has hands down been the best investment for myself and my family. It’s been wonderful to offload the burden of meal planning and preparation. Chantelle is so easy to communicate with and her food is delicious. It has improved our family time in the evenings and my mental health.
