Damar has been a miracle worker for us for awhile now. He’s a pro and knows how to prepare fantastic meals that accommodate dietary restrictions and children. I can not recommend him/them enough!

Chef Katie is a gift to our family! With three teenagers, we are always on the road. That often leaves me with no time at home to prep, or cook, or often eat! We were eating way too much takeout, and our nutrition (and wallet) were suffering. Katie has changed all of that for us. Our fridge is stocked with individually portioned meals that I can have on the table in minutes. The kids can even heat their meals on their own if some schedules are different from others. She has taken all of our preferences to heart, and she has been totally accommodating. We are eating much healthier, and we are enjoying a much wider array of foods. I would recommend this service (and specifically Chef Katie) to anyone!

We love Chef Damar! His meals give us more family time together and they are delicious. My toddler always eats his veggies. FTC has been a game changer for our family. We eat more healthfully, save money with reduced takeout and have more quality time when we get home from work. Priceless!

Jessica has been such an amazing chef. We have blessed to have her with us over the past two years. My kids know her by name and my husband and I just love her cooking. She is dependable, kind and such a breath of fresh air. She has a strong skill set with cooking and can just about any dish we request. Her meals are creative and delicious. Rarely a meal twice unless requested. We are so grateful to have her cooking and preparing such great meals for us out.

This review covers what my Friend That Cooks, Chef Sarah Glenn, did for me for the week starting Thursday, February 27, 2020. I had a lot of terrific food in Kauai and in Oahu over the past three weeks or so. I had a great time as well. But it certainly is great to get back and to again enjoy the absolutely amazing (which is a standard deviation better than “terrific”) food prepared by Chef Sarah!

“Mess of southern boiled cabbage” with bacon spiced pork chops – Okay, the pork chops are way better than you could imagine. While in Oahu, I stayed at a hotel that included a free Asian breakfast buffet and I particularly liked the boiled cabbage that reminded me of my childhood in Alabama. So, I asked Chef Sarah to fix me up a mess of southern boiled cabbage and, of course, she did. But why dies chef Sarah’s taste better than Oahu and even my childhood memory. Well, the stuff on Oahu was good enough but not a challenge. But the Alabama recipe for boiled cabbage secretly includes a lot of sugar and a lot of butter and maybe some bacon grease, so what I remember is actually not something I would probably like at this point in my life because I now appreciate the superior flavors of healthy cooking. Chef Sarah came up with some incredible cabbage that has just the right hint of butter plus some amazing and unexpected Louisiana spices.

Shrimp and chicken sausage gumbo with jasmine rice – This a repeat of one of my favorites. Somehow, it gets better each time!

Zoodles with spring veggies and spinach pesto and seared chicken – I didn’t see this coming at all. Chef Sarah seems to enjoy doing that to me. Wonderful things can happen when you encourage a gifted artist to exercise creative freedom. This is an excellent example of that!

Turkey, avocado, and cheese sandwiches – My daughter requested this, and they are really great.

Avocado, egg, and turkey bacon wraps – Also mainly for my daughter, another of her special favorites!

Damar is amazing!! We are not the easiest family to cook for and he does a wonderful job! He is always willing to adjust recipes to fit our dietary needs. Having him allows us more time to spend with our little family and we are so grateful for that! In addition to fantastic meals he is cost conscious and leaves the kitchen so clean! So worth it!!

Mary does a great job for us. We have been working with her for a couple months and are very happy. She is helping us eat healthier and helping our 1yr old try new flavors and foods and to sneak in the veggies. We highly recommend her.

We've had Katie cooking for us for about a year and a half now and it has made life so much easier! She always makes whatever dishes we are feeling that week without question or need for direction. She knows all the foods we like and dislike by now We are super grateful to have her with us each week!

We have been using Friend That Cooks since November and love the service and meals Damar Wilson provides! I love how the meals are so much healthier. The investment made is saving money on going out a lot less at restaurants!

Dieting has always been a challenge since it was difficult to find healthy, delicious, fresh food. Chef Sarah has become my secret weapon for dieting. She always has great ideas.
I can’t believe the great food she has come up with to fit in with my weight loss surgery diet. The limitations are very strict. She was determined to make delicious food within the parameters. It makes all the difference when you are trying to cut back when there is great food available.
If you are on the fence, I say go for it! Totally worth it.
