Chef Durand cooks for us at home every week, and it’s become something we genuinely look forward to. She’s warm and personable, the kind of presence that makes cooking in your home feel easy and comfortable rather than formal. What really sets her apart is her creativity — she’s constantly bringing new flavor combinations and ideas to the table, so meals never feel repetitive even after months of working together. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. If you’re looking for a chef who brings both skill and genuine warmth into your home, we can’t recommend her enough.

Our personal chef Manny is amazing! He has been with us for about 2 years, and he knows our tastes and preferences. Each week, he makes a refrigerator-full of meals to feed our busy family of 4. We all look forward to eating Manny’s food, and we haven’t found a dish he can’t cook. We enjoy his Asian and Mexican meals in particular, but he also does great Creole, Italian, and American food. Manny is always happy to cook our special requests, and if we don’t give him any instructions, he uses his creativity to design the perfect set of meals for us. Our lives wouldn’t function without Manny’s help.

Dakota has been cooking for me weekly now for a month and he rocks! The food he makes is so delicious and healthy (which was my request) now I don’t have to sign up for another boxed meal deliveries that I never seem to stick with. I recommend this company and Dakota! Dakota rates are affordable, he is professional, he cleans up after and the food is delicious!

Chef Manny has been a godsend and we got off the waitlist at just the right time! I normally travel a lot as-is, but I'm going to be away for almost the entire fall, so I won't be around to make sure the missus gets a well-balanced meal that's both gluten-free and dairy-free.

Manny started off with a halibut dish that was other-worldly good. The fish itself was very high quality (thanks HEB!), and the seasoning was just the right balance and went extremely well with the sides. Every other dish has been great. You can tell that he thinks about the person he's cooking for and takes whatever feedback he gets and adjusts for that person's palate.

With respect to the costs, it generally works out to about $30 per meal, which is in-line with going to a mid-range restaurant, and you're getting a gourmet meal!

This has been a great experience, and I'd recommend it to anybody who doesn't have time to cook, but still wants to eat a heathy, balanced, full meal!

Cooks better than I can, and even than most restaurants I’ve been too. Feels like such a luxury to have a chef of this caliber cooking in my home.

We began our relationship with Friend That Cooks post-COVID when everyone was changing jobs. As a result we are now on our 4th Chef. We have Loved Them All! Each chef had a unique style, fun recipes, and an awesome attitude when tackling my unique allergies. We have now had Chef Tess for over 2 years. She bakes gluten free bread, makes the most delicious gluten free ginger sugar cookies, keeps us stocked with chopped fresh veggies & dips that we can grab-N-go, as well as providing delicious, nutritious meals.
Signing up for My Friend That Cooks has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made.

Chef Camille S. has been such a staple in our home and we have throughly enjoyed her presence and her cooking. She is detail oriented, caring and organized. She has alleviated lots of stress on our family. I would hire Camille every time.

I have just started with Chef Corbin Linton & it’s been wonderful. He’s helping w/ my dietary issues. He’s introducing me to new spices which make the dishes taste better. He’s going to help me widen my
palate by introducing new foods a little at a time. He is also very pleasant & kind to me as he helps me w/ making better food choices. I have nothing but praise for him & highly recommend him.

Every meal is something we look forward to! Delicious, creative, and always made with such care. We’re so lucky to have Chef Marcos!

Dakota has been a game-changer for us. He cooks for the two of us adults, handles our specific dietary requirements without ever making it feel restrictive, and the food is genuinely restaurant-quality! His poke tuna bowls and chimichurri steak are on permanent rotation, and the fresh fish is always perfectly done. Shopping, cooking, cleanup are all handled, and the fridge is stocked for the week. We can't imagine going back!
