image Chinese food doesn't have to be completely unhealthy. Wink. Take out most the oil, most the sugar, all the breading and all the taste (just kidding on the last one), and stirfry can be reasonably healthy and incredibly tasty. The first trick to a healthy stirfry is a good non-stick pan. A better non-stick surface means you can get by on less oil. You can essentially "sear" the chicken after marinating it in a good teriyaki sauce. By using chicken stock and orange juice flavored with teriyaki sauce, a dash of sesame oil and a small amount of brown sugar for your sauce, your stirfry can be delicious without being near as bad for you as traditional stirfry. Rather than stirfrying vegetables in oil, wait until the sauce is ready, then toss in some broccoli, sliced carrots, onion and garlic, only allowing them to cook for about a minute before you serve your orange chicken stirfry. I don't claim this recipe is the healthiest ever, but it's much healthier than normal and it doesn't sacrifice flavor to get there.
